The kenyan Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs,
Amina Mohamed has today revealed plans to evacuate their country men
from South Africa as xenophobic violence increases.
She said that there are currently no Kenyan death due to the attacks in South Africa but Kenya won’t wait for a death to evacuate its people.
She said this was necessary due to the recent spate of xenophobia attacks by thugs in South Africa.

Many foreign owned shops in Johannesburg’s downtown area have reportedly shut this week amid the fears, with the police maintaining a heavy presence in the city.
Mohammed revealed that Kenyans living in the affected areas have already moved to temporary camps provided for victims, but not in large number.

She said the Kenyan Mission in South Africa was ready to offer assistance to any Kenyan national who may be adversely affected.
“Kenya’s official figures show some 450 Kenyans are in Durban, mostly in the city centre,’’ she said.

Meanwhile, the police stopped a Zambian protest against the crimes in South Africa.
The police had cited concerns over the peacefull protest going violence.
Kenya is aiming to avoid another international disaster after losing over 60 Kenyans in a terrorist attack by Al Shabaab.
